- Oil Catch Tank or Oil Canister
This is a system used in turbo engines or aged to filter the oil suspended in the crankcase gases before returning to the motor. The scheme works as follows:
part of the improvements I am making in my SUV LJ80, I sensed that the engine presents the problem of oil suspended in the hose leading from the crankcase vapors to the intake, which is understandable given his 27 years, but the trouble is that this oil mess everything inside, including the air filter.
had to think about how to fix it.
In most engines will return from the valve cover to the admission. The idea is that the fumes from burning oil in the cylinders reducing contamination.
If there is output, the pressure would end up spitting out the oil dipstick.
is supposed to be only oil mist, but if the engine has high mileage, poor compression or the slightest problem with rings, laden vapors out of oil particles in suspension. And this oil sticks and accumulates at the inlet, inlet temperature increases, generate pollution, affect sensors and intercooled engine, the leaves very dirty inside. In addition, power to the vehicle and remain that hinder the optimal mix within the chamber.
A widely used alternative is to disconnect the hose leaving open the vent to the atmosphere, that, apart from illegal, only makes the oil in suspension ends wetting and soiling everything under the hood.
OPTIMAL SOLUTION "?: Separate oil fumes.
exist in the market "Oil Catch Tank (Can collect oil), very nice look, but usually very expensive ($ 40 or more) and consists of a jar placed in the return pipe. This jar has a filter that accumulates in the oil that is suspended by condensation. Every so often you have to drain it for cleaning.
HAVE ANY OTHER GOOD SOLUTION?: Of course, do yourself a canister!
So that motivates me and design a home made Oil Catch with a moisture separator for compressor.
I started then to a fair bargain cachureos and after I got for less than $ 10, a perfect compressor filter, a piece of hose and connectors.
then prepared a proper assembly, in this case was with the fuel pump.
Here is an image with the required materials:

... and after
Greetings and I hope you serve a friend with the same problem

Calgary Average Electricity Cost
- External 12v Auxiliary Outlet
Have you noticed that is common routes stopping at night to settle a panne, or simply connect compressor illuminate with the laptop and then when the damn cable of these devices is always short or tangled ends on either side?
That's when you wish you had an external auxiliary jack 12 volts. lighter type placed in the rear of the vehicle.
then decided to make an auxiliary jack recycling an old trailer electrical plug, and therefore useless oxidized contacts.
first disarmed him and applied cleaning. Soon the aluminum body was bright as in their heyday.
The inner body is made of plastic so the dremel and cut a lot of patience and Agrippa oxidized contacts practicing then a hole in the middle.
After a while I could mount a cigarette lighter plug. The latter also cut some of the outer can to adapt to his new position.
And looked ahead after completion of the details.
From the back was flawless and very well set.
This is the final appearance, ready to be installed anywhere in the jeep and it is best that is very well protected and safe from spills.
Anyway, and to ensure 100% security, I recommend wire power line direct from the battery, plus a switch, relay and fuse to mount.
